There’s more behind our logo than just the Parata Property initials.

When we created the Parata brand, we wanted every part of it to represent what we were building.

The multiple ‘P’s coming together represent community. The people, relationships and shared journey that sit at the heart of Parata Property.

The steps represent growth. Not only the growth of an investment portfolio, but the progress that comes from taking one step at a time towards a bigger goal.

And the architectural forms represent the world we operate in. Property, finance, investment and the built environment.

Together, they represent what Parata Property has always been about.

With so many new faces here, we thought it was time to reintroduce ourselves and share a little more about who we are, what we do and why we do it.

Starting with the words behind Parata Property.

Live life on your terms.

I was always drawn to property because of what it could create beyond the property itself.

Freedom.

Options.

Choice.

The ability to make decisions based on what you want from life, rather than what you can afford to do at the time.

That idea eventually became much bigger than building our own property portfolio.

It became the reason we started Parata Property.

To help more people use property as a vehicle to build wealth, create more options for their future and ultimately live life on their terms.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more about our story, our strategy, what we believe in and the results we’re helping our clients achieve.

Units do not grow.

At least, that is what investors have been told for years.

One of our clients purchased a unit for $335,000 just over two years ago.

It has now sold for $671,000.

More than double the original purchase price.

And while he held it, the property achieved an 8%+ rental yield.

This is why we have never believed investors should have to choose between growth and yield.

The right property can deliver both.

It comes down to buying the right asset, in the right location, at the right time.

One result does not define an entire asset class.

But it certainly challenges one of the biggest misconceptions in property investing.

One of the biggest mistakes investors make is buying a property they cannot comfortably hold.

Some investors are paying thousands of dollars every month just to hold their property.

That is not how we invest.

Every property we have purchased for clients over the last 12 months has achieved a minimum 7% rental yield.

Many have achieved 8%, 9% and even 10%.

Why?

Because we want the tenant covering as much of the holding costs as possible.

Not our clients.

Strong rental income creates flexibility.

It improves cash flow.

Success does not always look the way people expect it to.

Sometimes it looks like saying no to instant gratification.

Living below your means.

Making decisions other people do not understand.

Kieren and I stayed at home while we built our portfolio.

Not because we had to.

Because we knew what we were working towards.

From the outside, it probably looked like we were falling behind.

In reality, we were building the foundation for everything that came afterwards.

Do not measure your progress against someone else’s timeline.
