Lawyers who rely on "AI hallucinated" materials in courts are liable for severe discipline. The Tasmanian Supreme Court has found that the Parole Board has "hallucinated" cases.

Tasmania's parole board has failed in a bid to keep in place a ban on a convicted murderer speaking to the media because its argument in the Supreme Court cited case law that was "hallucinated" by AI.

129 former inmates will share in the $75m compensation package for sexual and physical abuse, and false imprisonment. However, the Centre is still open - and will be until 2027 at least.

The new Social Media laws have been opened for public consultation - but for only 24 hours.

On 21 November 2024, the Senate referred the provisions of the Online Safety Amendment (Social Media Minimum Age) Bill 2024 to the Environment and Communications Legislation Committee for report by 26 November 2024.  The closing date for submissions is 22 November 2024.
