Australia marked Citizenship Day on 17 September. This year, as of 31 August, more than 115,000 migrants became Australian citizens.
The top spot has been taken by migrants from New Zealand (16,113), followed very closely by India (15,576).
The other countries that were in the first five spots were UK, the Philippines, and China.
Citizenship by conferral is a common way of becoming a citizen. People need to be a permanent resident and meet certain criteria before they can apply.
