Yesterday we returned to Lismore to deliver more supplies and gift cards to the region.

Our contribution is simply a drop in the ocean however, the people on the ground that received our assistance were extremely grateful.

We are pleased to have played a small part in the recovery mission. This could not have occurred without your generous donations.

Dear All,

We are deeply saddened by the destruction of the recent floods in Queensland and New South Wales.

The impact upon the township of Lismore has been particularly devastating. Like many of you, we have family and friends in the effected flood regions. However, the level of displacement and destruction in Lismore is overwhelming. It appears that access to the region through distribution channels is limited, leaving the region with minimal services and supplies.

Feedback from our connections in the region indicates there is an immediate need for basic personal essentials and supplies. In particular, women, young girls and the elderly need personal hygiene products, toiletries and continence products.

In order to respond quickly, Mulcahy Ryan Lawyers has organised a Go Fund Me fundraiser for the Northern Rivers Flood Crisis.

All funds donated will be spent on purchasing supplies and necessities to be personally delivered to the Lismore region on 11th March 2022.

At Mulcahy Ryan Lawyers we recognise Australia Day is a day for many Australians to celebrate and be proud of our achievements as a community and a nation. However, the essence of Australia Day is evolving and it is a day that means different things to different people. Acknowledging our national achievements is important and many people will take the day to celebrate. However, we understand there are many people, particularly our First Nations people who find the day difficult and extremely hurtful.

We recognise the issues surrounding Australia Day are emotive and raw. However, given the challenges COVID 19 has presented over the last 2 years, it has never been more important to be a united, compassionate and caring nation and community. Regardless of your views, we encourage everyone to mark the occasion in your chosen way and contemplate what the future of Australia Day will be as we move forward as a nation.
