From 1 July 2026, new Australian AML/CTF laws will change how clients work with lawyers, accountants, real estate agents and other professional advisers.

You may soon be asked for more ID and additional documentation as part of certain services and transactions.

These are legislated Government reforms designed to help prevent money laundering, fraud and financial crime across Australia.

• A 4.75% increase to modern award minimum wage rates
• An approximately 6% increase to the National Minimum Wage
• The phase out of C13 award classifications

The changes apply from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2026 and may impact:

• Award classifications
• Annualised salary arrangements
• Workforce planning and budgets
