100 years of investing in Queensland communities. This week, that investment was honoured.

McCullough Robertson has been recognised with the Queensland Community Foundation Board of Governors Award at the 2026 Queensland Philanthropy Awards, and we couldn’t be more proud of what this recognition represents.

It reflects the dedication of our people, the trust of our community partners, and a shared belief that business has a role to play in building a stronger Queensland.

A special acknowledgement to our pro bono leads Kim Trajer and Tim Longwill, all our pro bono and CPP champions, Louise Ferris and everyone at McR who has contributed to our pro bono and community partnership commitments over the years.

Thank you to Queensland Gives and award sponsor Queensland Public Trustee for championing philanthropy across our state. And congratulations to every finalist and recipient recognised today.

Our Sydney team recently took part in the Walk 4 Justice, hosted by the RACS - Refugee Advice and Casework Service in recognition of National Pro Bono Day.

Walk 4 Justice highlights the importance of improving access to justice, and the role organisations like RACS play in providing critical legal support to those who need it most.

It was great to see our Sydney office join others across the NSW legal community, coming together around a shared commitment to pro bono work and making a meaningful contribution beyond our day-to-day roles.

Thank you to RACS for their ongoing work, and to our teams who continue to support pro bono initiatives across the firm.

Through a century of history, McCullough Robertson has remained a constant for our clients.

We have weathered wars, the Great Depression, droughts, stock market crashes, economic downturns – and more recently, a global pandemic. Through it all, our role has remained the same, providing clear, practical advice when it matters most.

These moments have shaped who we are. Resilient. Adaptable. Always looking ahead.

As we step into the future, we remain focused on what matters most, standing beside our clients, whatever lies ahead.

Always.

Our Brisbane office came together to officially launch our 2026 campaign, and we were honoured to be joined by Robert Reed OAM, founder of Darkness to Daylight, and Linda Smith, General Manager of .dv

Darkness to Daylight is an overnight 110km run supporting Challenge DV and the fight against domestic and family violence, an issue that too often remains hidden. Running from darkness into daylight, the event is as symbolic as it is impactful.

Over a decade of participation later, and in our centenary year, we’re proud to take that commitment a step further as a Major Sponsor of the 2026 event. Team McR will be taking on the challenge on 28–29 May.

If you’d like to support the cause, you can donate to Team McR via the link in bio. Every contribution makes a difference.

8 Days. 1311 Kilometres. McR has now raised an incredible $39,100 for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section)! This brings the RideWest event fundraising effort to a grand total of $638,169. Every dollar going towards the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (Queensland Section)’s Wellbeing Out West program to support regional and remote communities.

The peloton, which cycled from Brisbane to Longreach over 8 days, also made a stop in Barcaldine – a full circle moment for McR, to return to the town where it all began, 100 years ago, and where McR's founder Robert McCullough first established himself as a solicitor.

For the last 110km of the Ridewest peloton, Cam, Mark, Feng and Clint had a few extra supporters to see them out of Barcaldine, with Damien Clarke and Tim Longwill joining the peloton for the final stretch into Longreach and an McR support crew waiting to welcome them to the finish line.

An incredible 8 days, and an incredible show of support from so many people. Thank you to everyone who showed up, who donated, or who cheered us on throughout the peloton.

Yesterday was a hot one for the McCullough Robertson riders as they made a 220km run from Augathella to Blackall. Despite the heat, their spirits couldn’t be dimmed with the kids from Tambo State School (the whole school consisting of 70 students!), cheering the peloton on as they rode past.

They later received a rousing reception from the Blackall townspeople. For McR's riders - Mark, Cam, Feng, and Clint - spreading connections from the city to the country in support of mental health has been the highlight for them. They later joined the townspeople at the Blackall Bowls Club for dinner. For every kilometre covered in their 1,311km journey, the cyclists know that every pedal counts, with all funds raised going to these very communities, for mental health support programs funded by Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia

As they embark on Day 8, the final day of the peloton and a 214km ride, they’re excited to pick up Joint Managing Partner, Damien Clarke and Partner, Tim Longwill in Barcaldine. An McR cheer squad, will also be in Barcy – the town where it all began for McR, 100 years ago, and the reason McR are so passionate about supporting regional and remote communities.

From Charleville to Augathella – our riders continued on their Ridewest journey to Longreach, pedalling 84 kms yesterday, reaching a cumulative total of 877 kms - raising money for Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (Queensland Section)'s Wellbeing Out West program.

They started the day with a stop to visit our friends, RFDS in Charleville, which first began operations in 1943 and services 622,000 square kilometres of southwest Queensland. RFDS remain one of McR's longest-standing community partners, reflecting our enduring commitment to rural and agricultural communities, which are home to many of our valued clients.

In true outback spirit, the locals have welcomed the RideWest peloton with open arms. Starting the day, The Milk Bar on Alfred took good care of the team before they set off for the day and at the midway stop on the way to Augathella, the peloton were greeted by local kids on bikes from the school where fellow rider, Nat is the principal. The kids showed the team the local sights and had written a song, which they performed with gusto.

Finishing in Augathella before sundown, they went for an afternoon BBQ in front of a fire, overlooking the incredible western Queensland sunset.

Today, on their second last day, they will ride another 220km stretch to Blackall.

The McR team yesterday conquered a 180km stretch from Mitchell to Charleville along the Warrego Highway. In true Western Queensland fashion, the sun and heat were out in full force, but the wind gave them a gentle push as they made their way to the mid-point at Sadliers Waterhole in Morven.

With 793 kilometres logged in Strava over just 5 days, today they make their way to Augathella - all to raise vital funds for mental health services in regional and remote communities.

Yesterday, the McR team set off to Mitchell in the Ridewest peloton, making a stop at the Blue Tree in Muckadilla and St Patrick’s Primary School in Mitchell which has just 31 students.

Across Australia, The Blue Tree Project has become a conversation starter - a way to inspire people to change the narrative of mental health.

Taking the time to stop at the Blue Tree, was an important reminder about the mental health services that are needed across rural towns - and how services like Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia’s Wellbeing Out West program are vital to remote communities. As of today, the McR team are proud to have raised an incredible $36,550 for these vital mental health services and support programs as part of the RideWest fundraising initiative.

Over the weekend, the McR team travelled 393 kilometres in the Ridewest peloton, on their way to Longreach.

Donning McR forest green, the team started their Saturday morning with an ANZAC Day Dawn service at the Oakey RSL.

Hitting the road shortly after, the peloton made their way to Chinchilla via a 10km gravel road through cotton fields, that put the RideWest bike mechanics to work, and finishing the day with a refreshing ice bath to sooth their weary muscles.

Sunday held a different kind of challenge – a 220km stretch from Chinchilla to Roma – the longest ride that any of the McR cyclists had ever completed. As they arrived in Roma they were greeted by a local called Buddy who celebrates each arrival of the RideWest peloton with a whip-crack on the side of the road.

With four out of eight days complete, the team have now travelled a total 526kms. Only 785 kilometres to go! Today, they set off to Mitchell with a ‘rest day’ of 87 kms ahead of them.
