What a way to head into the weekend!

We are thrilled to have received not one, but TWO Subclass 186 Employer Nomination Scheme (Direct Entry) nomination approvals today.

These nominations were lodged back in December 2024, which is a reminder that patience is often part of the migration journey. For occupations that are not in the critical sector and the priority processing list, nomination processing can take well over a year, with many applicants currently waiting up to 17 months for a decision.

The wait can be long, but today’s results prove that persistence pays off.

A huge congratulations to our clients and their employers on this fantastic milestone towards Australian permanent residency.

Heightened scrutiny on Subclass 407 visas

As of 30 April 2026, 55% of Subclass 407 visa applications in the 2025–26 financial year have either been refused or withdrawn. This reflects increased scrutiny by the Department of Home Affairs and concerns around the quality of some applications.

The Subclass 407 Training Visa is intended for genuine workplace-based training and professional development and not ongoing employment.

We are celebrating another Tribunal victory🎉

Our client, a hospitality student, had her student visa application refused in June 2024. Following careful preparation and submission of comprehensive supporting documentation, the matter proceeded to a tribunal hearing.

The hearing was concluded in approximately 30 minutes, as all materials had been thoroughly prepared in advance, enabling the tribunal member to make a prompt and informed decision based on the evidence provided.

Congratulations to Slendy from Colombia, who is now able to continue her studies in Australia.

This outcome highlights the importance of detailed preparation and a well-structured approach when presenting a case.

We are celebrating another Tribunal victory 🎉

Our client, a hospitality student, had her student visa application refused in June 2024. Following careful preparation and submission of comprehensive supporting documentation, the matter proceeded to a tribunal hearing.

The hearing was concluded in approximately 30 minutes, as all materials had been thoroughly prepared in advance, enabling the tribunal member to make a prompt and informed decision based on the evidence provided.

Australia will increase the income thresholds for key employer-sponsored visas from 1 July 2026. This is due to the latest wage data driving automatic indexation.

📈 New thresholds:
• Core Skills Income Threshold (CSIT): now $79,499 (was $76,515)
• Specialist Skills Income Threshold (SSIT): now $146,717 (was $141,210)

These changes affect new Subclass 482 & 186 visa nominations lodged on or after July.

Make sure your salary offers meet the updated floors before applying.
