🚨 AUSTRALIA STUDENT VISA UPDATE 🚨

Big news for international students planning to study in Australia — the federal government has just announced major changes to who can bring family members on a student visa.

Here's what you need to know 👇

🎓 Most future international students will lose the automatic right to bring a partner or children with them.

✅ PhD candidates are exempt — they'll still be able to bring eligible family members. Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke says PhD students are typically at a different life stage than undergrads.

🌏 Students from Pacific and ASEAN countries are exempt from the restriction entirely.

🏠 If you're already in Australia with family on your visa, you're not affected — the change isn't retrospective. As Burke put it: "We're not going to be breaking up families on shore."

📌 Bottom line: if you're planning to study in Australia and were hoping to bring your family, check whether your course level or home country qualifies for an exemption before you apply.
