We are delighted to announce an exciting new chapter for Sash & Gable Property. After significant interest from the market, Rod and Gaby McEwan of McGrath Wynnum-Manly emerged as the ideal custodians of our business, perfectly aligning with the core values and mission that Gail and I have passionately upheld.

At the heart of this decision was our commitment to ensuring opportunities, growth, and wellbeing for our team - principles that Rod and Gaby share wholeheartedly. Their dedication to nurturing both people and performance reassured us that McGrath Wynnum-Manly is not just a great match but an opportunity for even greater growth and success for everyone involved.

McGrath Wynnum-Manly is led by Principal Rod McEwan, a seasoned and award-winning Property Manager with over a decade of experience. Rod is supported by a dedicated team of professionals who, along with Carissa, will continue to deliver exceptional service to our valued landlords and tenants.

It is with a mix of emotions that we share some news with you today.

In 2016, Gail and I opened Sash & Gable Property with a heartfelt vision: to create a boutique real estate experience that truly elevated the property journey for everyone who walked through our doors. Our little office on Edith Street quickly became more than just a workplace - it became a hub where connections flourished, partnerships thrived, and lifelong friendships blossomed.

Reflecting on these years, we are filled with immense pride for all that our Wynnum community has accomplished. Through the uncertainty of the pandemic, Wynnum's resilience shone brightly, and it was during those challenging times that Sash & Gable Property made its mark within the industry as we continued to redefine excellence.

Sash & Gable Property was recognised as Wynnum's Sales 'Agency of the Year' in 2020 and 2023, and Gail has earned the title of 'Agent of the Year' by RateMyAgent for six consecutive years. We are equally proud of our outstanding achievement in Property Management, winning the Wynnum RateMyAgent 2024 Property Management 'Agency of the Year' for the fifth consecutive year, coupled with a National Award of being in the Top 100 Rental Agencies Australia wide! We were also deeply honoured to receive the 2024 'Best Real Estate Agency Business' award, a recognition that belongs as much to you as it does to us. These accolades are a testament to the trust and loyalty you've placed in us over the years. None of this would have been possible without your support. You've allowed us to be part of your lives in such a meaningful way; we are profoundly grateful for that.

As we stand on the threshold of a new year, a time for reflection and renewal, we face a bittersweet decision. After a year of personal challenges - my journey through chemotherapy and radiation and Gail's growing responsibilities for her mother's aged care - we've realised it's time to focus on what matters most: our health, our wellbeing, and our families.

With this in mind, we have made the heartfelt decision to sell Sash & Gable Property. This choice was not made lightly, and while it is challenging to step away from a business we've poured our hearts into, we know it's the right path forward.

Thank you to our loving family, our incredible team, clients, and community for walking this journey with us. Your trust, kindness, and unwavering support has been the foundation of our success, and we will always carry these memories with us. While we may be stepping back from real estate, Wynnum will always be home, and we're not going far - we promise you'll still see us around this beautiful pocket of the world we all love.

And this isn't goodbye just yet. We have some exciting news to share with you in the coming days, so please stay tuned!
