At Nurture Law, we're usually helping people create masterpieces on paper... wills, estate plans, affidavits and court documents. 🎨⚖️

This week, we decided to swap legal drafting for painting and discovered that some of us are better at interpreting wills than interpreting a blank canvas. 😅

Thankfully, unlike estate disputes, there were no objections, no cross-examinations, and no appeals against anyone's artistic choices (although a few paintings may have raised some questions!).

A wonderful afternoon of creativity, laughs, and team connection.

Swipe to see the evidence. 🎨🖌️✨

We’re proud to share that Nurture Law has been recognised in the Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms – Australia” rankings for Trusts and Estates.

This recognition reflects the strength of our team and our shared commitment to supporting clients with clarity, compassion and care.

At Nurture Law, we understand that estate planning and estate administration often come at deeply personal and emotional times. Our focus has always been on guiding families through these moments with empathy, while helping to minimise conflict and provide practical, thoughtful solutions.

To be acknowledged in this way by the profession is incredibly meaningful. We’re grateful to our peers for their recognition, and to our clients and community for the trust they place in us every day.

There has been a lot of discussion recently about proposed changes to discretionary trust taxation, but Testamentary Trusts remain one of the most powerful estate planning tools available.

Why? Because estate planning is about so much more than tax.

A well-structured Testamentary Trust can help protect children’s inheritances, safeguard family wealth, reduce risks from family law claims and creditors, and support vulnerable beneficiaries for years to come.

In our latest blog, we explain why Testamentary Trusts continue to play an important role in protecting families and creating long-term financial security, even amidst proposed tax changes.

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the mothers, grandmothers, stepmums, carers and mother figures who show up every day with love, strength and care for the people around them. 💐

So much of motherhood is about protecting and providing for family — not only in the present, but also in thinking ahead for the future. We often see this reflected in the thoughtful decisions parents make to ensure their children and loved ones are cared for, supported and guided no matter what life may bring.

We also know that Mother’s Day can be difficult for many. Today, we are thinking of those who are missing their mum, grieving the loss of a child, navigating complicated relationships, or finding this day particularly hard.

Wherever today finds you, we hope you are surrounded by kindness, connection and moments of peace. 💛

If planning for your family’s future has been on your mind, our team is always here to help guide you through the conversation.

Happy Mother’s Day from the team at Nurture Law.

We’re proud to share that Kelly Gatehouse and Caitlin Littleton of the Nurture Law team have been recognised by Best Lawyers in the areas of Trusts and Estates.

Kelly has been recognised by Best Lawyers each year from 2020 to 2027, and we’re also delighted to see Caitlin acknowledged in her first year in the Ones to Watch category.

This recognition is based on a respected peer review process, where lawyers across the profession assess the professional abilities of their colleagues.

To see Kelly and Caitlin acknowledged in this way is incredibly meaningful. It reflects not only their technical expertise, but also the care, empathy and integrity they bring to supporting clients through some of life’s most important and often sensitive moments.

At Nurture Law, we’re committed to helping families navigate estate matters with clarity and compassion, and this recognition is a reflection of that shared purpose.

We’re grateful to our peers for their recognition, and to the clients and community who place their trust in us every day.

🚨 NEW SERVICE ALERT 🚨

By popular request, we’re now drafting Wills with creative conditions, including:

✔ “Must name first child after me to inherit”
✔ “Annual family BBQ attendance required”
✔ “No inheritance if you switch footy teams”

Custom clauses encouraged 😌

April Fools! 😄

While we’ve seen some very creative wishes over the years, not everything people include in a Will works the way they think it will.

The best Wills are clear, practical, and legally enforceable.

No surprises — just certainty.
