🌱 Nurture Law is growing — and we have TWO opportunities to join our team.

It’s an exciting time for our firm. As our specialist wills and estates practice continues to grow, we’re looking for two great lawyers to grow with us.

⚖️ESTATE LITIGATION — SENIOR ASSOCIATE | SPECIAL COUNSEL | PARTNER

This is a senior role for an experienced estate litigator who is ready for real autonomy, leadership and the opportunity to help shape a growing estate litigation practice.

You'll run complex succession disputes, lead strategy, mentor our team and have a genuine opportunity to step into practice leadership.

🌱 ESTATE PLANNING — LAWYER | ASSOCIATE

For an estate planning lawyer who wants to get really good at what they do.

You'll work on sophisticated estate and succession planning, have ownership of your matters and client relationships, and learn from experienced specialists — including our very own Estate Planning Jedi, Carrie Payne 🧙‍♀️.

Most importantly, this isn't just another lawyer role. We're looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career in estate planning and grow with Nurture Law.

Why Nurture Law?

No billable hour targets. Genuine flexibility. Interesting specialist work. A modern, technology-enabled practice. Autonomy with support. And genuine opportunities to progress as our firm grows.

You also don't need to be actively looking for a new role to talk to us.

If one of these opportunities has made you a little curious, reach out to Kelly Gatehouse for a confidential chat. Sometimes the best career moves start with a conversation (or a coffee ☕), not an application.

And if someone in your network immediately came to mind while reading this, please share or tag them below.** 🌱

✨ What does success really mean?

Our Principal, Kelly Gatehouse, recently joined Rachael Karlyl on the Am I Successful Yet? podcast to share the journey behind founding Nurture Law.

From overcoming imposter syndrome and building a values-driven law firm to discussing leadership, mental health, creativity and the future of AI in law, it's an honest conversation about growth, resilience and redefining success along the way.

A big thank you to Rachael for creating such a thoughtful space for these conversations. We're incredibly proud of Kelly for sharing her story so openly.

🎉 Nurture Law is 5! 🎉

This month, we're celebrating five incredible years of Nurture Law.

When Nurture Law was founded, our vision was simple: to do law differently. We wanted to create a firm where people felt genuinely cared for, where legal advice was practical and easy to understand, and where innovation and technology enhanced, not replaced, the human connection.

Five years later, we're incredibly proud of how far we've come.

We've had the privilege of guiding clients through some of life's most significant moments, helping them plan for the future, administer estates, navigate disputes, and find clarity during difficult times. Every matter has been an opportunity to make a meaningful difference, and we never take the trust our clients place in us for granted.

Our journey has only been possible because of the extraordinary people around us, our dedicated team, our loyal clients, our referral partners, and our wider community. Thank you for believing in what we're building and for being part of our story.

As we look back, we're proud not only of what we've achieved, but of how we've achieved it. By treating people with kindness, communicating with clarity, embracing new ideas, remaining adaptable as we've grown, and delivering the consistent, high-quality service our clients deserve.

Five years is a milestone worth celebrating, but we're even more excited about what's ahead.

Here's to the next chapter of supporting more families, continuing to innovate, and making a positive difference in the lives of those we have the privilege of helping.

Thank you for being part of the Nurture Law journey. We can't wait to see what the next five years bring. 💙

Breaking news: Lawyers now have even more paperwork. We know… we were surprised too. 😉

From 1 July, Australian law firms providing certain legal services are required to comply with the new Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) regime.

What does that mean for our clients?

It means you might notice we’re asking a few more questions than we used to, such as:
✔️ Verifying your identity
✔️ Asking about the source of funds in some matters
✔️ Confirming who ultimately owns or controls a company or trust
✔️ Requesting a little more documentation before we can get started

If your first thought is, “Didn’t I already tell you all of this?” … we completely understand!

While these new requirements do add a few extra steps (and possibly a few extra coffees for our team ☕), they’re an important part of protecting Australia’s financial system and helping prevent money laundering, terrorism financing, fraud and other serious financial crime.

We’ve spent many months preparing our systems, processes and team so we can make these new requirements as simple as possible.

The only thing we ask in return is a little patience. 😊 Onboarding may take slightly longer than it has in the past while we complete the required checks, but we’ll always explain what we need, why we need it, and do everything we can to get your matter underway as quickly as possible.

Thank you for working with us as we implement these changes. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to continuing to provide the kind, clear and personalised service you expect from Nurture Law.

🤖 Can AI write your Will?

It’s a question more and more people are asking.

Artificial intelligence can draft emails, create documents and generate ideas in seconds, but when it comes to something as important as your Will, is “good enough” really good enough?

In our latest blog, we explore:
• What AI can actually help with
• The risks of relying on templates or automated documents
• Why estate planning is rarely as “simple” as it seems
• The real cost of getting your Will wrong

Your Will speaks when you no longer can. Making sure it’s clear, legally sound and protects the people you love matters more than ever.

At Nurture Law, we're usually helping people create masterpieces on paper... wills, estate plans, affidavits and court documents. 🎨⚖️

This week, we decided to swap legal drafting for painting and discovered that some of us are better at interpreting wills than interpreting a blank canvas. 😅

Thankfully, unlike estate disputes, there were no objections, no cross-examinations, and no appeals against anyone's artistic choices (although a few paintings may have raised some questions!).

A wonderful afternoon of creativity, laughs, and team connection.

Swipe to see the evidence. 🎨🖌️✨
