This year, I am taking on the challenge of sleeping in a car for one night to raise awareness and funds for The Forgotten Women Project, helping women over 55 who are experiencing homelessness find a safe and secure place to call home.

We believe every woman deserves to live with dignity and age with securely in place.

For me, this cause is especially personal. As a survivor of domestic violence, I understand how important safety, dignity, independence and security are when rebuilding your life.

My daughter and I were able to escape because I had my sister welcome us with open arms, we had a home and my family were there to support, not every woman is so lucky.

As a family-run law firm, Terry Anderssen Lawyers has spent many years helping women navigate some of the most difficult periods of their lives. Through our family law practice, we have supported many women who have experienced domestic and family violence, helping them understand their rights and take steps towards a safer, more secure future.

For this reason that is why the Live Like Her Challenge 2026 is particularly meaningful to me and our team.

Meet Our Founder, Terry Anderssen ⚖️

Since 1978, Terry has dedicated his career to helping generations of Queensland families navigate important legal moments. He founded Terry Anderssen Lawyers in 1993, and today proudly practises alongside his daughter and Partner, Sophia.

With a Master’s in Law and more than 40 years of experience across family law, wills, estates, property and business law, Terry has helped thousands of clients across Brisbane’s northside.

Known for his kindness, humility and down-to-earth approach, Terry is passionate about providing thoughtful advice and finding practical solutions for his clients.

Outside the office, Terry is a proud dad and grandfather who loves travel, keeping fit and spending time with his wife, Margie, whom he has been married to for 50 years.
