I am delighted to welcome Lucinda Duke to HFL as our new Legal Admin Assistant.

Lucinda is in her third year of a combined Bachelor of Humanities / Laws (Honours) with a Ramsay Scholarship at the University of Queensland.

She has hit the ground running during a busy period and we are vey lucky to have her on board with the warmth and kindness she brings!

Yesterday’s lunch at at the Gold Coast. 💐

There is a relaxed openness at these events that makes them quite unique. Not “networking” as we know it, but women gathering to support other women (with an ally or two in tow) with real conversations, much laughter and fun.

Today, the Family Law Amendment Act, 2023 takes effect.

The Act changes the framework in which the Courts consider parenting arrangements for children, the factors to be considered when determining what is in a child’s best interests, and how separated parents are to make decisions about long-term issues.

Today is also an opportunity to renew our commitment to finding meaningful solutions for children in out of court processes, with their safety, best interests, individual needs, and where appropriate their voice, as the guide.
