THE QUEENSLAND GOVERNMENT HAS ANNOUNCED
IT WILL DOUBLE THE FIRST HOME OWNER GRANT
ELIGIBLE BUYERS TO RECEIVE $30,000
Hi there, we are excited to report that the Queensland Government has announced it will double the First Home Owner Grant taking the Grant from $15,000 up to $30,000.
The changes will apply to eligible transactions between 20 November 2023 and 30 June 2025, with Queensland first home owners able to apply for the increased Grant from the first week of January 2024.
FIRST HOME BUYERS TO RECEIVE $30,000
The Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced that the government will fund the first home owner boost initiative from coal royalties and believes it will support around 12,000 new buyers by June 2025. We believe that this could be much more as demand for new homes in Queensland continues to rise.

DEMAND FOR NEW HOMES ACROSS SEQ CONTINUES TO RISE AS INTERSTATE MIGRATION INCREASES
The Queensland Government is determined to see home ownership rates continue to rise. The boost is set to cost around $210m over the next 19 months and aims to put the dream of owning a home within reach for more Queenslanders.
It comes as the State Government and industry bodies believes there is capacity emerging in the housing construction sector. However we believe that capacity, alongside the availability of approved land will be tested as more people from overseas and interstate move to Queensland each week.
