An insurer’s first decision is not the final word.

Our client was injured in a motor vehicle accident and lodged a compensation claim. The insurer denied liability completely. For many people, that is where the story ends.

Not for our client.

We reviewed the decision, challenged it with detailed legal submissions and evidence, and made it clear the denial could not stand. When the insurer then alleged our client was 30% at fault, we challenged that too.

The result: liability accepted in full, the contributory negligence allegation withdrawn, and $150,000 awarded to our client at settlement.

If your claim has been denied or disputed, do not accept it as final. Speak to our team.

LANDMARK CIVIL RIGHTS CASE:

We Need Your Voice

30 protesters charged after the Israeli President’s visit now face trial this July. But this isn’t just about one protest. It’s about free speech. Police powers. Civil rights.

We’ll be calling senior NSW police to account, including Commissioner Mal Lanyon, deputies, and assistants.

29 protesters remain before the courts. One has already been released.

Our petition has thousands of signatures and backing from The Muslim Legal Network, NSW Council of Civil Liberties, and Civil Liberties Defence Centre.

Add your name to those calling for all charges to be dropped.

Sign the petition. Link in bio 📥

What happens when faith, culture, marriage, and Australian law collide?

In this thought-provoking article, lawyer Majed Kheir explores the realities facing Muslim families in Australia. From nikah and mahr to de facto relationships, financial contributions, divorce, maintenance, and the growing tension between Islamic expectations and Australian family law.

Drawing on 25 years of legal experience, this article opens an honest conversation about justice, responsibility, fairness, and the challenges of modern Muslim marriage in Australia.

Whether you agree or disagree, these are important discussions our community cannot afford to avoid.

Australia’s national security laws are changing, and not in a small way.

The ASIO Amendment Bills 2025 propose making compulsory questioning powers permanent. What was supposed to expire in 2005 due to the severity of its civil rights infringments has been renewed and extended by successive Labor and Liberal governments since. It is now being pushed to stay forever, with an expanded scope that includes sabotage and promoting communal violence.

Compulsory questioning means ASIO can legally require individuals to answer questions, produce documents, and appear before an officer, without charge, without conviction, and with no right to silence.

The civil liberties concern here is real. Permanent powers with an expanded scope and no sunset clause means less parliamentary oversight, less accountability, and more room for these powers to be used more broadly over time.

If you or someone you know has questions about how these laws could affect you, reach out to Kheir Lawyers today.
