WELCOME TO THE TEAM | HABIBA HUSSAIN

We’re very pleased to welcome Habiba Hussain to Daniel Taylor Lawyers.

Habiba joins our Bairnsdale office as a lawyer, bringing an impressive start to her legal career.

A Monash University Juris Doctor graduate, Habiba was admitted to practise in Victoria in April 2026. Before joining us, she worked as an Associate to a Judge of the Victorian Court of Appeal, gaining invaluable experience in criminal law, evidence, legal research and the court process.

She has also gained practical experience through Monash Law Clinics and First Step Legal, working directly with clients experiencing difficult and complex circumstances.

Habiba will work primarily from our Bairnsdale office, appearing across East Gippsland and the Latrobe Valley as part of our criminal and intervention order team.

We think she’ll be a terrific addition to the firm and we’re looking forward to watching her career develop with us.

Meet Naomi - Naomi is a lawyer with extensive experience across criminal law and the Victorian justice system.
Beginning her legal career in 2019 as a Legal Secretary, Naomi progressed to Practice Manager and later became a practising Criminal Defence Lawyer. This varied experience has given her a strong understanding of both the legal and practical aspects of working within the justice system.

Naomi believes that effective legal practice starts with listening. She takes the time to understand each client’s circumstances and provides clear, honest and considered advice throughout the legal process. Her approach is professional and empathetic, while remaining focused on achieving the best possible outcome.

Outside of her legal career, Naomi is actively involved in her local community through netball coaching and leadership roles. She is passionate about continued professional growth and contributing positively to the legal and wider community.

Naomi holds a Bachelor of Criminology from Federation University and a Bachelor of Laws from Deakin University.

Holding a Doctorate, Elise combines academic excellence with real-world problem-solving. From preparing case materials to keeping timelines on track and ensuring all the right questions are asked, Elise is there to make sure no stone is left unturned.

Meet Ellie - Ellie leads our Morwell office and brings warmth, sharp insight, and professionalism to every client she represents. With qualifications in Criminology and Law from Griffith and Charles Darwin Universities, she has a solid foundation in both theory and practice.

Before joining our firm, Ellie worked in criminal law, litigation, and conveyancing, and served in senior case management roles with the Department of Justice and Regulation. She’s supported complex matters, vulnerable clients, and tight timelines—all while maintaining her clear-eyed focus on outcomes.

Ellie’s clients value her calm presence, honest advice, and dedication to their case. She is approachable, diligent, and believes in justice that is practical and personal. Whether appearing in court or guiding clients through difficult decisions, Ellie brings clarity and care.

This year marks the first time Doyle's Guide has published separate rankings for Regional Victoria and Metropolitan Melbourne, making this inaugural recognition especially significant.
