Meet Eliza 👋

Eliza understands that family law matters are rarely “just legal.”

Behind every separation, parenting dispute, or property matter is a person trying to navigate one of the most emotionally difficult periods of their life — often while still showing up for work, children, and everyday responsibilities.

Known for her calm and approachable nature, Eliza works closely with clients to help them feel informed, supported, and confident about their next steps. She believes clarity and communication are essential, especially when emotions are running high.

Eliza is passionate about helping people move forward with practical advice, empathy, and strong legal guidance when they need it most.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find her spending time with family and friends, staying active, or enjoying everything Brisbane has to offer.

Staying back at work… not because you’re busy, but because home feels heavy?

Sometimes the biggest sign something isn’t working isn’t a huge fight.
It’s the quiet ways you start avoiding your own life.

What people often experience when they feel stuck:
• Going from “I need to leave” to “maybe it’s not that bad” every week
• Feeling guilt, fear, financial stress, or worry about the kids
• Staying busy because slowing down means facing the truth

You don’t need a dramatic final straw to question whether something still fits.

And you don’t need every answer today either.

Sometimes clarity starts with asking better questions:

If nothing changed, how would I feel in 12 months?
Am I staying out of love… or fear?
What am I teaching my children about relationships?

Mediation shouldn’t feel confusing before you even begin.

At Brisbane Family Mediation Centre, we offer structured, fixed-fee mediation packages designed to meet you where you are in the separation process — whether things are straightforward, complex, or somewhere in between.

Each pathway is built with clarity, flexibility, and outcomes in mind.

You’re not locked into a one-size-fits-all process. Instead, you choose the structure that suits your situation:

• One & Done — for full-day resolution
• Half the Day, All the Focus — for shorter or simpler matters
• Bit by Bit — for staged conversations over time

Every option includes intake sessions, preparation, and a facilitated mediation process designed to keep things moving forward without unnecessary cost or court escalation.

The goal is simple:
to help you reach agreement with structure, support, and clarity.

If you’re unsure which pathway is right for you, our team can walk you through it.

When you’re ready to resolve matters efficiently, One & Done mediation offers a focused pathway forward.

This full-day mediation package is designed for families who want to work through parenting and/or property matters in one structured session, rather than stretching discussions over weeks or months.

With individual intake sessions completed beforehand, the mediation day is used productively — giving everyone the time, structure, and guidance needed to work toward practical agreements.

One day. Clear process. Real progress.

For many families, it’s a faster and more cost-effective alternative to prolonged conflict or court escalation.

If you’re ready to move forward and would prefer an efficient, solution-focused approach, One & Done may be the right fit.

This isn’t their voice, but these are their words.

Behind every testimonial is a real experience of trying to find clarity in the hardest moments.
For this client, that meant navigating separation after domestic and family violence, and later a second relationship breakdown—this time needing a different kind of support again.

With Kara and the BFLC team, the focus was calm strategy, honest advice, and practical steps forward. Not overwhelm. Not confusion. Just a workable path through complexity.

That’s what we aim for at Brisbane Family Law Centre—legal support that keeps you focused on what matters and helps you rebuild with direction.

If you’re in a difficult separation, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Share this to someone who might be in need of some support.

Separation is rarely just a legal process.

It’s emotional, personal and often overwhelming —
and that’s when decisions can be made quickly, or without the full picture.

Over time, there are a few things we hear again and again from clients:
“I wish I had slowed down.”
“I wish I had gotten advice sooner.”
“I wish things hadn’t escalated the way they did.”

Hindsight is powerful — but it’s not always necessary.

With the right support early on, many of these common regrets can be avoided.

If you’re in the middle of a separation, or thinking about it,
this is your reminder to pause, get informed, and take things one step at a time.

Save this for later, or share it with someone who might need it.

If something feels off financially during a separation, there’s usually a reason you’re picking up on it.

A common assumption is that money can simply be ‘hidden’ and never found again — but that’s not how family law works.

In Australia, there are strict disclosure obligations in property settlements. That means both parties are required to provide full and frank financial disclosure, and there are formal processes available to trace assets if something doesn’t add up.

What people often don’t realise:
• Full financial disclosure is legally required in every property settlement
• Hidden assets can often be traced through formal legal processes
• The court can take non-disclosure seriously when dividing property

Hidden accounts, delayed income, transfers to third parties — none of it is as invisible as people think.

What matters is knowing what to look for, and how the law actually deals with it.
