The week of 12 October is the Advance to Zero Albany Connections Week - a week of getting out into the community and partnering with local services to connect people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness with practical support and essential services.

As well as be out and about in the community across the week, on Thursday 15 October 2026 GSCLS and a collection of other services will be set up in the Allison Harman Gardens, next to the Albany Library from 8:30am to 2:00pm as an additional connection point event.

People will have access to:
- Advice and information on health, legal and housing
- Food vouchers
- Free clothing
- Food relief and meal services

⚠️ On Monday 27 July 2026 at 12pm AWST, the Australian Government will send a test alert to all mobile phones across Australia, as part of the trial for a new emergency notification system, AusAlert.

It may override silent and "Do Not Disturb" settings. If you rely on a safe phone, it's important that you take steps to ensure your safety.

If safe to do so, turn off any hidden device before the scheduled test for at least an hour.
