Good Morning All,

Sorry for not posting as often recently - it's been busy in Agnes and we've been hard at work!

Today in fresh, local, wild-caught fish fillets, we have:
- Spanish Mackerel
- Barramundi
- Coral Trout

- Goldband Snapper
- Tuskfish / Parrot
- Swordfish
- Northern Bluefin Tuna

- Grassy Sweetlip

- Flake.

Looks like it's going to be another beautiful, sunny day and we've got lots of fresh cooked prawns, bugs and oysters on board for picnics on the beach!

Or, for those looking to bbq up a storm, we have all the usual favourites in the freezer, including XL green prawns, squid, scallop meat, fish wings and more.

PRAWN UPDATE

Tiger prawns are scarce this year and, with fuel prices on top of that, our usual boats can't keep us in good supply of them.

So, for at least the next few months, we're pivoting to King prawns.

But we didn't settle for just any old ocean King...

If we had to give up our beloved Tigers, we decided to bring you the very best King there is!

That's right - we have big, beautiful MOOLOOLABA KING PRAWNS!

These highly prized prawns strike a perfect balance of sweet and salty, firm and juicy, with that gorgeous peachy colour that's sure to impress.

Good Morning All!

In a change that we're excited to see, as of yesterday, new country-of-origin labelling laws for seafood came into effect for all venues and outlets that sell ready-to-eat seafood, including fish and chip shops, cafes and restaurants.

Venues will need to label seafood as either Australian (A), imported (I) or of mixed origin (M).

While we support these measures to ensure that customers are better informed about where their seafood comes from, we believe that the requirements could have gone further to identify whether a species is wild-caught or farmed. For now, you'll still need to ask the question, particularly for species like Barramundi.

While fishmongers have been required to label country of origin for many years, you can be assured that Agnes Water Seafood sells only Australian seafood, nothing imported.

Hi All,

As some of you may know, we took time off for me to have my second knee surgery.

Pleased to say all went smoothly this time and my recovery is on track!

Filleting is particularly hard on a new knee though so, to make sure it continues to heal well, I've decided to take another two weeks off.

I understand this is a long break and is probably going to disappoint a few people, but I don't want to push my luck.

We'll be back on Thursday, 4 June.

Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you then.

Sorry for the late message, but we just wanted to say a huge thank you to all our customers, fishers and suppliers for such an incredible Easter weekend and start to the school holidays!

We went into this period feeling a bit uncertain. With the pressure everyone’s under and Agnes being a long way to travel with fuel prices the way they are, we didn't really know what to expect this year. Frankly, we were worried we'd be hugely overstocked!

But the turnout was overwhelming, and we’re so grateful for the support through what we know is a tricky time for many.

Thursday brought an amazing turnout from locals and, on Friday, we saw so many of our regular visitors return again this year and come straight to see us — it definitely didn’t go unnoticed. And hearing so many people talk about supporting local and being mindful of the challenges the fuel crisis brings for small businesses was pretty special.

We’re feeling very grateful for the support. A little tired and weary now, of course, but so grateful.

We also wanted to let people know early that, after the school holidays, we’ll be taking a planned 4-week break from 23 April to 17 May.

Everything is running as normal until then, so come in over the next couple of weeks to stock up. We’ll have plenty of 5kg boxes of prawns on board and lots of fresh fish so you can fill the freezer.
