ABA/ROLI is a longstanding partner in the area of legal reform in Armenia beginning its work here in 1996 and continuing to the present. ABA ROLI has been involved in key milestones in Armenia's legal development including the creation of a single advocates' union, the development of the bar examination, and the creation of a Public Defender's office. ABA ROLI has successfully created a Trial Advo

cacy Skills program and legal clinical education program to help train and prepare Armenia's future lawyers. ABA ROLI has also helped evaluate Armenia's justice system by conducting the following key assessments: Legal Education Reform Index (LERI), Legal Profession Reform Index (LPRI), Judicial Reform Index (JRI) and Detention Procedure Assessment Tool (DPAT). These tools have been useful in identifying issues and shaping legislation in Armenia. ABA ROLI monitored elections in Armenia in 2008 and the 2012 parliamentary elections and will monitor the upcoming presidential elections. ABA ROLI also supports strategic litigation to develop and clarify important questions of law. Finally, ABA ROLI provides technical assistance and trainings to all sectors of the justice system. ABA ROLI is committed to strengthening Armenia's justice sector through its ongoing programming, training and work with our partners.
