Express Entry Categories Update 🇨🇦
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has announced updated category priorities for Express Entry.
Canada is now placing greater emphasis on specialized high-skill professionals and candidates with in-Canada experience.
Here are the confirmed updates for 2026:
🆕 New Categories
• Physicians with Canadian experience
• Researchers with Canadian experience
• Senior managers in sectors like construction, healthcare, and production
• Skilled military recruits with a Canadian Armed Forces job offer
🔁 Reintroduced
• Transport occupations, including pilots and aircraft mechanics
♻️ Continued Priorities
• French language proficiency
• Healthcare occupations
• STEM roles
• Trades
• Education
❌ Removed
• The Agriculture and Agri-Food category has been discontinued for 2026
