BWB&O is honored to support HairToStay for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. HairToStay is a non-profit organization dedicated to making scalp cooling treatment affordable. This treatment involves wearing a special cap during chemotherapy sessions to prevent chemotherapy drugs from reaching the hair follicles and minimize hair loss.

Our donation will support five patients during one of the most challenging phases of their lives. To learn more about helping those battling cancer or donating, please visit https://hairtostay.org/.

STAY INFORMED. STAY EMPOWERED.

Knowledge is one of our strongest tools in the fight against breast cancer. 1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. In 2026, an estimated 321,901 women and 2,670 men will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, and an additional 59,080 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer will be diagnosed. Chances are that you know at least one person who has been personally affected by breast cancer.

But there is hope. Early detection saves lives, and when caught in its earliest, localized stages, the 5-year relative survival rate is 99%. Advances in early detection and treatment methods have significantly increased breast cancer survival rates in recent years, and there are currently over 4 million breast cancer survivors in the United States.

Together, through awareness, education, and support, we can create a future where breast cancer is no longer a threat.

From September 15 through October 15, we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, a time to recognize the rich cultures, histories, traditions, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities.

The observance began in 1968, when President Lyndon B. Johnson established Hispanic Heritage Week. Twenty years later, it was expanded into a month-long celebration, beginning September 15. That date is especially significant because it marks the independence anniversaries of several Latin American countries, including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

This month, we’re proud to recognize just a few of the many individuals whose accomplishments have helped shape our communities and our country:

Dolores Huerta — Activist and labor leader who co-founded the United Farm Workers and has spent decades advocating for workers, families, and social justice.

Lin-Manuel Miranda — Puerto Rican-American composer, playwright, actor, and creator of Hamilton and In the Heights.

Ellen Ochoa — Mexican-American engineer, former NASA astronaut, and the first Latina to travel into space.

Hispanic heritage is woven into the story of our communities, our workplaces, and our nation. This month, and every month, we celebrate the people, traditions, and contributions that strengthen our communities.

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage of the first responders, service members, and countless individuals who answered tragedy with bravery and compassion.

We also remember the families, loved ones, and communities forever impacted, as well as the strength and unity our nation showed in the days that followed.

Twenty-five years later, their memory remains with us. We will never forget.
