The next challenge for Southland parents will start tomorrow with Distance Learning. Individual schools seem to have been managing expectations of students themselves and there have been no rigid rules as such, set by the MOE.
All parents should have heard from their school Principal and teachers by now with workload and schedule information, as well as information on how to access work material. If you haven’t – contact your child’s school via email / messenger / school stream ASAP.
For those sharing parenting between homes – make sure both parents email details are with the school / teachers, so you both receive the same information at the same time, and try and agree between you on a consistent schooling schedule for the child(ren) between homes.
I checked out the English school channel on CH 502 today and it looks very good! Generally, it appears to cater for Junior levels in the morning from 9am, and Senior (12-15 year olds) after lunch until 3pm. So if you get stuck or want somewhere to start – utilise it!
