LEGAL SUPPORTERS
International Anti-Corruption NGO
Legal Supporters is an international non-governmental organisation dedicated to fighting corruption and providing access to justice for individuals, groups, and communities. The organisation’s head office is located in the United Kingdom, and it maintains an additional operational office in Nigeria. Although Legal Supporters is primarily concentrated in Nigeria at the present time, it is out to serve communities around the world. Its daily work involves keeping a close check on government officials and oil companies that abuse human rights in any form.
The mission of Legal Supporters is to combat corruption at all levels, with a particular focus on government institutions and the extractive industries.
The organisation strives to provide meaningful access to justice for marginalised individuals, groups, and communities who might otherwise be unable to obtain legal redress. Furthermore, Legal Supporters actively monitors and challenges human rights violations committed by government officials and oil companies.
To achieve these aims, the organisation builds strong partnerships with a wide network that includes individual activists, other non-governmental organisations, and legal professionals based in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

The organization works collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders. These include individual community members and grassroots activists, local and international civil society organisations, and lawyers in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom who provide pro bono assistance and strategic litigation support. Through this network, Legal Supporters is able to strengthen legal accountability and amplify the voices of those affected by corruption and human rights abuses.
At present, Legal Supporters concentrates on several key areas. First, it carries out government oversight by monitoring and exposing corrupt practices among public officials in Nigeria. Second, it focuses on oil company accountability by investigating and challenging human rights abuses committed by oil companies operating in the country. Third, the organisation provides access to justice through legal aid, representation, and advocacy for affected individuals, groups, and entire communities. Finally, Legal Supporters engages in human rights protection, specifically defending victims of corporate and state abuses, particularly in the Niger Delta and other oil‑producing regions of Nigeria.
Although Legal Supporters is currently concentrated in Nigeria, the organisation maintains a strategic presence in the United Kingdom. This dual presence allows the organisation to leverage international legal frameworks, advocate for corporate accountability on a global stage, and coordinate effectively with worldwide anti‑corruption networks.
Legal Supporters is registered as an international anti‑corruption non‑governmental organisation with its headquarters in the United Kingdom. The organisation operates transparently and maintains a physical operational office in Abuja, Nigeria. It welcomes collaboration with like‑minded organisations and legal professionals who share its commitment to fighting corruption and advancing human rights.
