"On August 8th 1982 a line drive foul ball hits a four year old boy, Jonathan Keane, in the head at Fenway Park. Jim Rice, realizing in a flash that it would take EMTs too long to arrive and cut through the crowd, sprang from the dugout and scooped up the boy.
"He laid the boy gently on the dugout floor, where the Red Sox medical team began to treat him. When the boy arrived at the hospital 30 minutes later, doctors
said Jim's prompt actions were instrumental in saving the boy's life. Jim returned to the game in a blood-stained uniform. A real badge of courage.
"After visiting the boy in the hospital, and realizing the family was of modest means, he stopped by the business office and instructed that the medical bill be
sent to him.
"The spring following the incident, Jonathan was asked to throw the ceremonial first pitch for the Red Sox's home game opener. He gladly accepted and had the opportunity to reconnect with Rice." Remember when the game was entertaining and the players were real.

1️⃣3️⃣ years and nearly 6,500 runs against the new ball is an incredible achievement. They may not have the best average of opening partnerships but in many people’s eyes they are the best in world cricket history.

Both right-handed, so without the classic advantage of a left and right pairing, both went on to be immortalised as West Indian legends. Sir Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes came together at Port-of-Spain 🆚 Australia in 1️⃣9️⃣7️⃣8️⃣, and after putting on 87 in their first innings, they never looked back. As a pair Haynes, an outgoing Bajan, and Greenidge, more reserved and often based in England, weren’t the best of friends. But a chemistry existed when they batted.

Haynes was the more pragmatic technician, whereas Greenidge had a brooding intensity. He was murderous when roused ➖ offering his trademark pull shot to the short ball, front foot raised to knee height as the ball skated to the square leg fence ➖ dismissed with an air of ‘don’t bowl there to me, son’.

Some argue they would have struggled against their own, but what we do know is that they coped well enough with Lillee and Thomson, Imran Khan, Kapil Dev, Botham and Willis with no bother at all. Nuff said.

Ambers Pups have now all left for their new homes and Amber is being spayed next qeek she can only stay with her foster mum for another couple of weeks as she is changing jobs if anyone can offer Amber a forever home please complete an application form

Amber needs a quiet home Single or couple no children could possibly live with a similar sized male dog

Mum and Pups now safe with us if anyone would like to apply for mum please fill in the form she's a sweet girl who will be spayed as soon as feasible

For those of you who applied to help thank you so much we were ideally looking for as close to the rescue as possible due to vets etc if you applied and would consider fostering one of our dogs please message the page we have 13 in kennels desperate for foster

Mum and Pups in urgent need of foster Owner has had a massive stroke and is unfortunately not expected to recover member of his family has taken mum and pups in but its a busy house with 6 children (mum isn't used to children) and she's getting quite upset trying to protect the pups she needs a quiet adult only home Pups are currently 4 weeks old
