This week, we will be attending the San Diego County Bar Association's Awards Ceremony and Celebration of Community Service. We're honored to be recognized by the SDCBA as the 2026 Distinguished Organization award winner!

A huge thank you to our CWSL law students who work hard each semester to help us provide free and low cost legal services to creators, entrepreneurs, nonprofits and small businesses who need assistance with intellectual property, media, and technology law issues.

Congratulations to NMR 3L student Casey Manuel, who was inducted into the California Western School of Law Pro Bono Honors Society last week!

Many of our amazing students volunteer 50+ hours of pro bono legal services every year with New Media Rights, and during their law school careers will volunteer with other local nonprofit organizations and government agencies in San Diego. We're grateful to work with future lawyers to understand the importance of public service and pro bono practice.

Providing legal support to creators who want to tell meaningful and impactful stories is a core part of the work that we do here at New Media Rights. We are proud to have worked on Desert Angel, a new documentary by Vincent DeLuca that tells the inspiring, heartbreaking and human stories of migrants and aid workers that show the reality of immigration at our southern border. The film has already been accepted to and won awards at numerous film festivals already - congratulations to the Desert Angel team!
