No Impunity has now signed multiple partnerships with litigation and ad hoc funders, ready to deploy capital for the right cases.
As such, we are actively seeking cases that meet the requirements outlined below.

Our goal is to onboard 5 new cases in the coming months.
If your case is vetted by our team and board, our platform will assist you in your case documentation and you with the appropriate fund based on its investment thesis.

Leveraging Law to end Impunity: The Power of Legal Action in the Niger Delta

🚫Human rights violation and environmental damages can not go unpunished. The devastating oil spills in Nigeria's Niger Delta have impacted an estimated 16 million people and contributed to over 6,500 deaths. The spills have contaminated water sources, making it difficult for people to access clean water for drinking and farming.

👩🏽‍⚖️But legal action has brought accountability and justice for the impacted communities.In a landmark case, a group of claimants sued Shell for failing to maintain their pipelines, leading to the oil spill. After a long legal battle, Shell agreed to pay £55m ($76m) to the affected Nigerian communities in 2021. This victory highlights the power of the law in holding corporations accountable for their actions and ending impunity.

⚖️ It entails using the legal system as a tool to raise awareness, set binding legal precedents, & ensure justice for both present and upcoming communities impacted by human rights violations and environmental damage.

⚖️ Litigation funding is when a third party funds a claimant's legal costs in a lawsuit, where the funder receives a share of the proceeds if the case is won.

🔍 Litigation funding is a great way to financially support victims through their legal journey. However, its traditional process is in dire need of an upgrade - So we're here to spice it up! 🌶️

💡Traditional litigation funding is an exclusive market, limited to high-net-worth individuals - We're here to democratise it and make it accessible!

💡Funding is currently driven through the incentive of investment on return - We are driven by setting legal precedents & enabling societal change.

💡Cases are often picked based on their winnability, as opposed to their societal value - Why not both?

💡The industry is dated and lacks overall transparency - We're set on digitalising the landscape and introducing a blockchain backbone.

Why exactly are we embarking on this journey?

After spending some time working in the legal, NGO and crowdfunding ecosystem, our co-founders realised something really needed to change.

We identified 3 key areas that need significant improvement:

1. The Justice Gap - The current financial barriers limiting access to legal representation for victims of abuse.

2. The lack of transparency and traceability faced by traditional fundraising processes - I.e. where does my contribution go and what is my direct impact?

3. The lack of access to to litigation funding opportunities for everyday individuals looking to fund impact due to financial restrictions.
