Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) update: This week, we will begin sending Invitations to Apply to potential sponsors who previously submitted an Interest to Sponsor form in 2020: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/2022/10/reuniting-families-across-the-country.html

Invitations will be sent by email over the next two weeks to randomly selected potential sponsors from the remaining pool of 2020 Interest to Sponsor forms.

If you submitted an Interest to Sponsor form in 2020 and did not receive an invitation to apply as part of either the 2020 or 2021 intake, keep checking the email address you provided on that form, including your spam and junk mail folders.

If you lost your confirmation number or no longer have access to the email address you used to submit your Interest to Sponsor form, you'll be able to retrieve your confirmation number or provide a new address once all the invitations have been sent: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/family-sponsorship/sponsor-parents-grandparents/selected.html

All travellers eligible to enter Canada must submit contact and travel information in before arriving in Canada. Fully vaccinated travellers must also enter their proof of vaccination.

A partir del 9 de agosto del 2021, las condiciones de entrada cambiaran para ciudadanos canadienses, residentes permanente y personas exentas de restricciones de viaje. No habrá cuarentena obligatoria para personas que demuestren estar vacunadas.

Esto es lo que necesitas saber si estás planeando viajar a Canadá proximamente. A partir del 22 de Febrero, 2021, con limitadas excepciones, los viajeros por vía aérea, también deberán reservar, antes de su salida a Canadá, una estancia de 3 noches en un hotel autorizado por el gobierno. A partir del 7 de enero 2021, todos los pasajeros que viajen a Canadá via aérea incluyendo ciudadanos canadienses, deberán presentar un test negativo COVID-19 antes de abordar. Dicho test debe ser tomado dentro de las 72 horas anteriores a la fecha programada de salida.

As of January 7, passengers travelling to Canada by air, including Canadians, will need to present a negative test result before boarding their flight.

Excelentes noticias para los estudiantes internacionales y familiares de ciudadanos canadienses y residentes permanentes que tenian impedimento para entrar a Canadá. El 20 de octubre el IRCC dará a conocer los detalles sobre las restricciones de entrada al país.

With the Government of Canada announcing further public health protections at the border, processes are being introduced to support enhanced family reunification, entry for compassionate reasons, and the safe and gradual entry of some international students.

The Government of Canada is deploying additional public health officers to ports of entry and strengthening quarantine monitoring to aid in the fight against the spread of .

Certain extended family members of Canadian citizens and Canadian permanent residents will be eligible to travel to Canada. This includes people in a long-term exclusive relationship and their dependent children, adult children, grandchildren, siblings and grandparents. Detailed information for extended family members, including the process and requirements, will be on the IRCC website on October 8. Travellers should not make any travel plans until this information is available and they’ve received proper authorization.

Foreign nationals travelling for compassionate reasons, such as a life-threatening illness, critical injury or death, will be eligible to enter Canada with limited exemptions from quarantine, subject to the approval of the provincial or territorial government. On October 8, information on how foreign nationals can request entry to Canada with limited exemptions from mandatory quarantine for compassionate reasons will be available on the Public Health Agency of Canada website.

Updated travel restrictions will take effect on October 20, 2020, to allow the entry of international students to Canada if they will be attending a designated learning institution with a readiness plan approved by their provincial or territorial government.

Reminder that all travellers must have a plan to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in Canada, unless they’re exempt.
