Sometimes the right move isn’t simply finding a smaller home.

Sometimes it’s recognizing that the home itself may no longer be the safest or most supportive environment.

As we age, routines can change. Stairs become harder. Maintaining a house becomes overwhelming. Driving may become less practical. Being alone may feel different than it once did.

FALSE! ❌🏡

There’s no maximum age for getting a mortgage. In fact, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act prohibits lenders from denying credit simply because of your age.

Instead, mortgage qualification is based on factors such as your income, assets, credit history, and debt, not the number of candles on your birthday cake. 🎂

And if you’re retired, Social Security, pensions, retirement account distributions and investment income may all count toward qualification when properly documented.
