However, a notary has the right to not perform services.

I am not a lawyer and I cannot prepare a document or explain a document other than a generic, this is a/an ______________. Or to tell you that I am allowed by law to or not to do something.

To go farther on that point, you cannot get around going to court by having me stamp and sign something. I am also not a judge.

As a notary it is VERY important to know what you are doing. It is not ok to just stamp and sign everything.

A notary is not authorized to make certified copies of birth certificates. These restrictions apply to all vital records, including death, marriage, and divorce certificates.

Sometimes you need to get things done and you are stuck out of town at the hospital with a child or you may not be able to leave the house because a family member requires extra care. Give me a call and we can figure things out!
