Here are some tips for improving your reach.

In order to be recommended, they must be 90 seconds or less.

Within insights, you can break down Accounts Reached by followers and non-followers so you can see how much of your reach is coming from people who donโ€™t already follow youโ€”and track that over time by changing the time frame selected. Look for patterns and keep tabs on which pieces of content are getting more reach to help inform your content strategy.

โœ… Check your Page Status. See if your account or your accountโ€™s content is eligible to be recommended to non-followers in Page Status. If you see that youโ€™re not eligible to be recommended, you can understand which content or components of your profile may violate Community Guidelines or Recommendation Guidelines. Then you can fix it by editing or deleting content; or request our review team take another look.

The Washington Post reports that a retired Philadelphia man, Jon, 67, found himself in the governmentโ€™s crosshairs after he emailed a lead prosecutor at the Department of Homeland Security, Joseph Dernbach, who was handling the deportation case of an Afghan refugee, identified as H, asking him to consider that the manโ€™s life was in danger from the Taliban.

Later that day, Jon received an email from Google notifying him that an administrative subpoena had been sent to them from the Department of Homeland Security โ€œcompelling the release of information related to your Google Account.โ€ Federal agencies can issue such subpoenas without an order from a judge or grand jury, and Google gave Jon, who withheld his last name to protect his family from the government, one week to challenge it.

Laws are supposed to restrict the use of administrative subpoenas, but DHS has used the tool against dissent protected under the First Amendment to the Constitution. Jon could not find who in the agency issued the subpoena, let alone a record of it to show an attorney.
