§ 46.2-862. Exceeding speed limit

We still see many people that do not realize what "reckless driving" is in Virginia. As such, we are posting our previous post from the past:

Most people do not understand what exactly "reckless driving" is when it comes to speeding. Reckless driving in Virginia is defined as 20 mph or more over the posted speeding limit OR over 80 mph. So, if someone drives 81 on I-66 where the speed limit is 70 mph, he or she is guilty of reckless driving.
Reckless driving in Virginia is a class one misdemeanor. (For comparison, a DUI 1st offense is also a class one misdemeanor.) That means it is punishable by up to 12 months in jail and a $2,500 fine. License suspension is also possible. Here is a link to the code section:

We receive quite a few questions regarding child custody and visitation. Most people do not realize what, exactly, a court must consider in determining the issue. Here is a link to the statutory factors a court must consider when determining child custody and visitation.

In determining best interests of a child for purposes of determining custody or visitation arrangements including any pendente lite orders pursuant to § 20-103, the court shall consider the following:
