Challenge vague “sound professional” critiques by forcing details:
✅ Write it down, exact words, who said them, when, and where.
✅ Ask for the why, what task truly needs English-only, for which customers, and at what times. Be specific.
✅ Spot the mismatch. If the job is done safely and clearly, “sound” is not a valid reason.
✅ Compare treatment, are others with similar roles judged differently on “tone” or “clarity”?
✅ Request the policy, ask HR for the English-only or “professional speech” rule in writing.
✅ Offer solutions, written follow-ups, customer handoffs, training you choose, or bilingual workflows.
✅ Keep the record, emails, reviews, and notes to show patterns over time.
