I want to announce that I have a new legal assistant, Thom Slagle! He has two years of paralegal education, and a ton of experience under his belt, but this is the first time that he has handled disability cases. He absolutely LOVES helping my disabled clients! I think 2022 will be a great year!

Since being laid off from my job in March of 2020, I've opened up my own law office again. I'm really enjoying being my own boss, and working from home. I'm taking cases in NC, SC and TN presently, but am open to extending further out. As long as I can travel to where you are for an eventual hearing, we're good to go! After being laid off from my job in April, as many of us have, I'm opening up my own Social Security Disability law practice again in Brevard, North Carolina. I'm taking clients from all over NC, SC, GA, and TN. I've been doing this kind of work for 23 years, and will be taking on Veterans Disability cases in the near future! I know I haven't been posting a lot here lately, but I want to say how much I'm truly enjoying running my own law office again! Dealing with each client, one-on-one, has always been my favorite part of this job. When I worked in bigger firms, there were always too many clients and not enough time to get to know them. The staff members ended up talking to them more than I did. I never want that to happen in my office. I'm going to keep my expenses as low as possible so I don't have to take thousands of cases to keep afloat, like the big firms (since these cases don't pay nearly as much as other types, that's how things typically go). I'm also really excited to start handling VA Disability cases! I'm waiting to be accredited, and that should happen within the next few weeks. Thank you, everyone, for all the "likes" and contacts.
