Hey everyone!
For those of you who don't know me, I would like to introduce myself:
I'm Kate Sullivan, a dedicated Patent Attorney specializing in Intellectual Property Law and Fractional IP Counsel.
In 2018, I embarked on an entrepreneurial journey, founding Black Dog Law. My mission is to evolve my practice to support more businesses and entrepreneurs, providing the essential legal foundation they need from the get go. I'm actively involved in Tulsa's community, serving on the boards of non-profits Modus and 36 Degrees North, and the Oklahoma Bar Association's Intellectual Property Section. I am also on the great team for 1 Million Cups and the Co-Director of Startup Grind Tulsa, both of which are fantastic entrepreneurial support organizations.
I'm committed to educating and supporting the Tulsa business community. I provide bi-monthly office hours at 36 Degrees North and host workshops to provide insights on intellectual property protections crucial for business owners and entrepreneurs.
Currently, I'm also working on the development of a legal clinic for startups and small businesses to support Tulsa's designation as a National Tech Hub. (Shout out to anyone that would like to be a part of this!!)
Spurred on by my interactions during my office hour sessions I realized there needed to be a place for entrepreneurs and startups to get what they needed to better build their businesses, regardless of where they were located. So I began formulating my own idea and participated in Build in Tulsa's February Female Founder's Pitch Night and the Builders + Backers Summer Accelerator in 2023. I'm continuing the work to build a remote place (app/web-based) to streamline access to professional resources from across the country and curated guidance for entrepreneurs no matter where they are on their journey.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I'm an avid animal advocate for various animal rescue organizations. My personal passions include horseback riding, working out at Revel Strength and Fitness, and quality time in Colorado and Grand Lake, OK with my loved ones.
I'm eager to connect, collaborate, and share knowledge with anyone interested in law, technology, and entrepreneurship. Together, let's make a positive and lasting impact!
