OFR's story was selected to be featured as the Oklahoma story in Unite in Advance's Generosity Builds Campaign!

Unite in Advance is a solidarity campaign launched by the philanthropic sector. The Generosity Builds campaign will be sharing stories of how charitable foundations and nonprofits have positively impacted communities nationwide. The initiative will feature 50 stories, one per state, on a dedicated website. The stories they will highlight demonstrate how charitable giving has driven visible, tangible, positive change at an individual or community level.

We are excited to be recognized in Unite in Advance’s Generosity Builds: 250 Years of Charitable Giving campaign.

Join us in celebrating two incredible years of OFR!

In just our two short years, we have continued our rollout across the state, working toward the goal of high-quality legal representation for all children and indigent parents in juvenile deprived cases in the state of Oklahoma. Thank you to all who have participated in or supported our journey to uplift and protect the rights of all children, parents, and FAMILIES in Oklahoma!

As said by our director, Gwendolyn Clegg, in this month's OFR newsletter: "OFR is just getting started! We have witnessed many families receiving quality representation over the past two years. However, much more work is needed. Now is not the time to pat ourselves on the back. Now is the time to dig deep and keep pushing forward in implementing and educating Oklahomans about the needs of families enduring the child welfare system. Oklahoma families need attorneys, social workers and mentors unafraid to stand tall and advocate zealously for their rights to be a family!"

Happy Family Unification Month! OFR celebrates our Oklahoma families navigating the lifelong journey of family unification.

We would like to share some words from the ABA Center on Children and the Law:

"We celebrate not just the families who have been able to reunify, but also the importance of preventing removals and separations whenever possible and keeping families intact through advocacy, supports and services. Celebrating family unification means honoring parents and their communities of support who fight tirelessly every day to keep their families intact."

Come join us! We have an opening for a contract attorney in Tulsa County!

OFR provides high-quality legal representation to children and indigent parents, guardians, and Indian custodians in child welfare court proceedings to promote timely reunification and preservation of families in a safe, healthy environment.
Our clients come to us through court appointments when child maltreatment is alleged. Our independent contract attorneys provide dedicated, zealous, client-directed legal defense while addressing the underlying issues that brought the family into the child welfare system. We strive to reduce foster care entries, shorten lengths of stay in foster care, promote frequent and high-quality family time, and ensure that children and parents receive well-tailored services to expedite safe and lasting reunifications.
