Every birthing person deserves care that is respectful, informed, culturally responsive, and centered on their needs, not assumptions.

The “you’ll be fine” mentality. The dismissal of concerns. The lack of listening. The expectation that people should simply accept whatever happens to them during pregnancy and birth.

That’s the ick.

As someone who works alongside families every day, I know that being heard can change outcomes. Asking questions is not being difficult. Advocating for yourself is not being demanding. Wanting informed consent is not asking for too much.

We can do better, and families deserve better.

A new certification, but an even greater commitment. 💛✨ I’m officially certified in High-Risk Doula support! This achievement is especially meaningful because it directly aligns with the families and communities I serve. Every family deserves informed support, compassionate advocacy, and care that recognizes their unique journey , especially during high-risk pregnancies. I’m honored to continue expanding my knowledge so I can show up stronger, wiser, and better equipped for the work I love. The mission remains the same: supporting healthier pregnancies, healthier births, and healthier families. 🤍

My opponent has never been providers. My opponent is Black maternal health disparities. Black women are still dying at disproportionately higher rates, and too many families are leaving birth experiences feeling unheard, unseen, and unsupported. Birthing Brilliance exists to bridge the gap through education, advocacy, and empowering families with knowledge because every mother deserves safe, respectful care and every baby deserves a healthy beginning. 🤎

Inductions are becoming the “get me out of pregnancy” card… but at what cost? 👀 Every intervention can influence what comes next. Ask questions. Know your options. Informed decisions matter.

Birth education matters because informed decisions matter. 💛 Every family deserves information, options, and support to make the best decisions for their journey. Need help advocating or a little guidance on your journey ? Birthing Brilliance is here for you.

I’ve always admired Malcolm X, not just for his words, but for the way he challenged people to think, learn, and prepare. I was taught that history has a way of repeating itself when we fail to learn from it, so the question becomes: what lessons do we carry forward?

📚 Read.
❓ Question.
🗂️ Organize.
✨ Prepare.

What can we take from Malcolm as a community? The importance of education, self-awareness, preparation, and collective action. The future of our families and communities is shaped by what we do today.

“The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.” — Malcolm X

Today was a beautiful reminder that community care changes lives. 💕
I’m incredibly grateful to have supported the Community Baby Shower alongside so many amazing organizations, advocates, and families committed to uplifting mothers and babies. created a community for birthworkers and our support for one another is unmatched.

Thank you to the Women’s Wellness Center , I See My Baby, and everyone who poured love, resources, and intention into this event. It was an honor to connect with families, advocate for maternal wellness, and stand in spaces that prioritize education, support, and empowerment.

Every diaper, stroller, conversation, and moment of encouragement matters. Communities thrive when we show up for one another. 🫶🏾✨
