One of my favorite parts of meeting with couples is watching them talk about each other.

A smile suddenly appears.

One person starts telling a story and the other finishes it.

There's a laugh.

A look.

A playful correction.

Those interactions tell me things a questionnaire never could.

By the time we've met a few times, I'm not simply writing about two people getting married.

I'm writing about you two.

And when your friends and family hear the ceremony, I want them thinking:

"That sounds exactly like them."

That's when I know I've done my job. 💕

Believe it or not, that's a wonderful answer.

Not every couple has a dramatic love story.

Sometimes two people simply fit.

One balances the other. One knows when to talk and when to listen. You know each other's quirks, strengths and imperfections—and somehow life just feels better together.

"We just work" can become:

“Together, you have created a partnership where your differences bring balance, your strengths complement one another, and simply being together makes life feel a little more complete.”

You don't need to arrive at our meetings knowing exactly what to say.

Just tell me about the two of you.

We'll find the words together. ❤️

During our meetings, a couple might tell me:

"They were there for me when..."

And then comes the story.

Maybe it was a difficult year. A career change. A family loss. A move. A health scare. Or simply a moment when life became overwhelming and one person refused to let the other face it alone.

Those stories tell me what words like commitment, partnership and devotion actually mean to you.

That's when traditional wedding language becomes personal.

Because instead of simply promising to stand beside each other through life's challenges, your ceremony can quietly acknowledge that you've already proven you will.

Those are the moments that give vows meaning. 💍

Not every meaningful wedding ceremony has to be serious from beginning to end.

Sometimes I'm talking with a couple and suddenly they both start laughing about something I don't understand.

That's when I know I need to ask:

"Okay... what's the story?"

Those moments tell me so much about a relationship.

Maybe it's a funny first date. A ridiculous nickname. A vacation that went completely wrong. Or something one of you does that drives the other crazy—but you secretly love.

A touch of that personality woven into your ceremony can make your guests laugh while the two of you think:

“That is SO us.”

And that's exactly how your ceremony should feel. ❤️

"They make me feel safe."

A couple may say those words to me almost in passing.

But that's something I want to know more about.

Because feeling safe with someone can mean being able to be completely yourself. Knowing someone will stand beside you. Having a person who feels like home no matter where life takes you.

And that thought can become:

“In you, I have found the person with whom I can be completely myself—the person who brings me comfort, strength, and the wonderful feeling of knowing I am home.”

That's why our conversations matter.

I'm not looking for perfect words from you.

I'm listening for the meaning behind them. ❤️

💕 “They’re My Best Friend.”

I hear this from couples all the time.

But I don't want to stop there.

What makes them your best friend?

Is it because they're the first person you call with good news? The person you want beside you when life gets difficult? The person you can sit silently with and still feel completely connected?

Those conversations can turn four simple words into:

“Today I marry not only the person I love, but the person I trust most, laugh with most, and choose to share every ordinary and extraordinary part of life with.”

The words don't have to start out poetic.

That's my job.

You just have to tell me what they mean. 💍

💍 Sometimes It Starts With One Simple Sentence.

During one of our conversations, you might casually say:

"They make me laugh."

Simple, right?

But then we talk about why. Maybe they can make you laugh when you've had the worst day. Maybe you share ridiculous inside jokes. Maybe laughter has carried you through some difficult moments together.

Suddenly, "They make me laugh" becomes part of something much bigger.

“I promise to keep finding reasons to laugh with you, especially on the days when laughter is exactly what we need.”

That's what I love about creating ceremonies. Sometimes the simplest words tell me exactly where the heart of your story lives. ❤️

When I meet with a couple, I’m listening for more than how you met or when you got engaged.

I’m listening for the little things.

The way you describe each other. The story that makes you both laugh. The qualities you admire. Even the simple phrase you use without realizing how much it says about your relationship.

Those little things are where I find the words that make your ceremony yours.
