An off-duty firefighter from Texas is being recognized after helping save the lives of three children following a boating accident at Lake Alvarado on the Fourth of July.

According to reports, Jason Horne, a firefighter and paramedic from Midlothian, immediately entered the water after a pontoon boat carrying nine people capsized. Hearing that children were trapped underneath, he began searching without hesitation.

Jason first rescued a young boy who was still breathing. He then located an unresponsive young girl, brought her to the overturned boat, and performed CPR until she began breathing again. After returning to the water, he helped rescue another young boy who had become entangled in an anchor rope and had no pulse. Jason performed CPR once more until the child's heartbeat returned.

Throughout the emergency, Jason's 12-year-old daughter, Emilie Horne, remained calm and called 911, staying on the line while her father worked to save the children.

Authorities said all three children survived and were able to return home with their families. Local officials praised the rescue, calling it an extraordinary outcome.

Jason and Emilie's actions are being recognized as a powerful example of courage, quick thinking, and selfless service. ❤️
