Today we’re sending a little pink appreciation to the Town of Southern Shores! We’re grateful for the town staff and crews who care for this coastal community and handle the everyday work that helps residents feel at home. So much happens quietly behind the scenes, and it deserves a thank-you. Beautiful surroundings are lovely, but the people caring for them make the difference. Also, “taking the scenic route” is a perfectly acceptable local hobby. 🌊

A quieter October afternoon is a lovely excuse to enjoy our coastal surroundings and appreciate the people caring for them.

Today’s thank-you goes to our beach lifeguards. While the rest of us watch the waves, you’re watching out for people. We’re grateful for your training, focus, and care for the locals and visitors enjoying our beaches. Your work deserves appreciation long after the beach chairs are packed away. We love the ocean, and we’re thankful for the people who help us respect it. The best beach-day accessory? Paying attention to the lifeguards. 🌊

Live jazz, coastal air, and a community coming together? That’s our kind of harmony! The Duck Jazz Festival brings musicians and music lovers to Duck Town Park for a celebration that makes life here sound even sweeter. A big thank-you to the organizers, musicians, volunteers, and sponsors who make it happen. We may sell homes, but we’re also pretty sold on a good saxophone solo. 🎷

The festival is coming up October 10–11 at Duck Town Park! Save the weekend for a little live music and a lot of coastal joy.

A roof over our heads is a pretty wonderful reason to be thankful! Coastal Roofing & Siding serves the OBX with roofing, siding, gutters, and other exterior home services. We appreciate the local tradespeople who help homeowners care for their slice of paradise, especially when coastal weather has opinions.
