All immigration hearings for non-detained cases through May 1, 2020 have been postponed. If you have a non-detained hearing before May 1, 2020, you should contact your attorney. If you do not have an attorney, at least make sure that your address information is up to date with the court so that you ensure that you get the rescheduling notice. https://twitter.com/DOJ_EOIR/status/1244770579460362246?s=20

USCIS will continue to process I-765 renewals (and it assumed any other types of renewal applications) despite ASC closures using previously submitted biometrics information. This method has been used in immigration court for years. https://twitter.com/USCIS/status/1244698691665113088?s=20

“Applicants who had an appointment scheduled w/ an ASC after the March 18 closure or filed an I-765 extension will have their application processed using previously submitted biometrics. This will remain in effect until ASCs resume normal operations. https://t.co/YAt68QsUCp”

As of March 18, USCIS is suspending all in-person contacts through at least April 1. This is a nation wide closure. That means no interviews for permanent residency and no naturalization interviews. It also means all biometrics appointments are cancelled. All will be rescheduled. You can still file applications, but there will be a delay in adjudication. https://www.uscis.gov/

Technical point may seem boring, but it’s a big win for #immigrants. Many have been prevented from filing for relief due to clock stopping on issuance of NTA with no hearing date, even though first hearing happens sometimes years later. #Immigration win. https://t.co/pG2EpSVlY7

“#SCOTUS holds that DHS notice ordering non-citizen to appear for deportation proceedings but without specifying date or time does not stop clock for purposes of length of time spent in US & therefore eligibility to avoid being deported”
