Here is what most people don't know until it's too late:
Notarized ≠ ready for international use.
An Apostille is a certification issued by the Secretary of State that authenticates your notarization for recognition abroad. It is the step between "notarized in the U.S." and "valid in another country."
The United States is part of the Hague Convention. That means a California apostille is recognized in 125+ countries, Mexico, Colombia, Spain, and most of Latin America and Europe.
The problem is the timeline. Standard processing takes weeks.
That's why the notarization step must be done correctly, the first time. One error and your apostille gets rejected, and the clock restarts.
I handle steps 1 and 2. Mobile Notarization, in Sonoma or Mendocino County, in English or Spanish. I also assist with expedited processing of Apostille facilitation when time is an issue.
Don't wait until it's urgent. Book 15 minutes with me.
