Friends, if you get the hardcopy of The Seattle Times, please save today's copy for me. Here's what my latest OpEd is about:

'Immigration reform' is such a broad issue. There are many facets to our immigration laws, all of which are broken. And when Congress does pick up the issue, all bills die on the hill of border security discussions. So, how do you even start to make a meaningful dent in this chronic problem?

Here's my thought piece in The Seattle Times today about at least making a start on this mammoth task.

Today, we have 11 million+ undocumented immigrants because of an unintended consequence of a law created in 1996. In my opinion, there should/could be bipartisan support for this particular issue, which in turn could move the needle in the right direction.

Please share this widely if it resonates with you. It's a great piece to spark conversations that can lead to educating and informing people who genuinely want to understand the problem. Let's leave the cats and dogs out of the conversation.

Thank you to The Seattle Times for publishing my piece, and thank you for reading.

This small change would represent a meaningful step toward addressing one of our nation’s most challenging issues.

Feel free to contact my office if you want help in due course. And watch out for webinars and seminars my office and I will be holding soon in collaboration with community organizations.

Since his first day in office, President Biden has called on Congress to secure our border and address our broken immigration system. As Congressional Republicans have continued to put partisan politics ahead of national security – twice voting against the toughest and fairest set of reforms in d...
