🚨CLASS ACTION ALERT 🚨 If you own a…🚘2014-2018 Nissan Rogue🚘 2015-2018 Nissan Pathfinder🚘 2015-2018 Infinity QX60 AND you’ve had transmission problems covered under warranty, LISTEN UP because this could save you thousands of dollars. There is a class action that gives owners of those cars an extended warranty for the transmission assembly, providing coverage for 84 months or 84,000 miles from the original warranty date (a slight upgrade from the 60 month or 60,000 mile warranty that was previously in place).Here’s the issue with these class actions: if you don’t opt out by the deadline, you GIVE UP YOUR RIGHT TO SUE THE MANUFACTURER FOR YOUR MONEY BACK. So instead of being able to lemon your car if they can’t fix your transmission, you would be stuck with an extended warranty that requires them to pay for the transmission repairs, but DOES NOT hold them accountable for actually fixing your car. My advice: if you’ve had transmission problems with one of the cars covered by the class action, talk to a lemon law attorney in your state to find out if you’d be better off opting out or staying in the class action. Lemon law class actions: Should you opt out?

If you’re a California consumer, you’re probably better off opting out of a lemon law class action than continuing to be a class member. Sounds counter intuitive but I have yet to see a lemon law class action provide more pros than cons for California consumers. For example, the recent 2013-2017 Nissan Sentra class action provided: ☑️a warranty extension, ☑️reimbursed out of pocket transmission repairs during the warranty extension period ☑️ “expedited” dispute resolution through BBB Autoline ☑️ $1,000 towards a new Nissan if you had 2 or more qualifying transmission repairs under warranty In exchange for the above benefits, consumers gave up: ☑️ ALL warranty repairs to the transmission prior to November 1, 2019 no longer count towards a lemon law claim. Consumers that did not opt out were also now forced to participate in: ☑️ Mandatory dispute resolution through BBB prior to any lawsuit being filed. Consumers that did not opt out are essentially forced to completely restart building their lemon law cases with repairs after November 1, 2019 through the warranty extension of 7 years/84,000 miles from the original date of purchase. This class action gave Nissan a free pass on YEARS of transmission repairs in exchange for a warranty extension. Does that sound fair to you? The latest oil change scam – what YOU need to know! Third party oil change companies have been targeting women and minorities by faking oil changes and keeping customer’s money. How do you know if you’re being targeted? The employees and mechanics will start repeating a certain word (chiclets has been used in the past) to each other to let each other know that you will be their next target. What can you do? Often times they will offer to come up to your driver side door to show you the dipstick dipped in oil to prove the oil change has been complete and oil levels are where they need to be. When this happens (or even if they don’t offer) ask to get out of your car and watch them dip the dipstick into your car’s oil. Fun fact: this actually happened to one of my good friends. ________ La última estafa de cambio de aceite - lo que usted necesita saber!
