Let's talk about Tiny Homes. It's been a big trend these past few years to pair down and live minimalistically so you can create more experiences rather than be bogged down with all your possessions. For those of you who were intrigued by this lifestyle, now that we've all had to shelter-in-place, curious to know if you would still be ok with that amount of living space?

Personally, having 2 young kids, I now know I need at least 6 of them to keep my sanity 😂

3 years ago this month, I made the decision to join . 🌉 At the time, I wanted to expand my experience and knowledge in developments. Fast forward to today, our team has been diligently working on getting this vacant lot approved and fully entitled. With a shortage of housing in San Francisco being 7mi x 7mi, it was decided to convert the 8 story, 23 unit mid-riser to affordable senior housing. The city currently requires a 12% affordability factor, however, understanding the need for more housing, we made it 100% of the building affordable to seniors in San Francisco. 🏢

As a San Francisco native who's occupation has seen the growing need for affordable housing, this upcoming project will be a step in the right direction.🏡

A client of mine who shares the same interest in wine as myself, wanted to see what wine storage options was available for his 2,000+ bottle collection. I offered to custom make a wall system similar to mine, but would not have been able to accommodate the amount of bottles. We narrowed down to two options - wine cellar room, or spiral wine cellar.

The issue with converting a room into a wine cellar, was that he would be giving up a functional part of his home. Whereas, the spiral wine cellar can be installed into the ground and kept hidden with a rug over it.

If you had a choice, which would you rather have?

Much of my posts showcase finished homes. However, many don’t see the work that goes into getting a property ready for market. 🏚 Today, for example, our team was busy clearing out a unique multi-unit in the coveted Pacific Heights District of San Francisco (Swipe ➡️ to see the before & afters). I have always found it fascinating going into homes that seemed to be hoarded and neglected as it tells a story. From the old report cards, to the vinyl records, to the dusty formal attire lost in the pile of “junk.” Maybe the report card shows a child’s progression in the school year while the black tuxedo ensemble was used to usher his daughter down the isle. At one point, all of these items held some sentimental value to someone. The saying holds true that one man’s junk is another man’s treasure. Although we still have a lot of work ahead of us in getting this property ready for market, the first phase is almost done.
