Over two years ago, a dream began in the small apartment of an almost-married couple.

We sat together, imagining what we could build and how we could use my legal experience and expertise to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families.

On Thursday, we celebrated a huge milestone in that dream becoming a reality.

After all the growth we’ve experienced, especially over the past year, we were able to take the exciting step of finding a permanent home for Stewart Legacy Law in Oceanside, California. And we truly couldn’t be happier.

We are incredibly grateful for the countless people who have supported, encouraged, and believed in us along the way.

To everyone who has been part of our journey, and especially those who joined us for our ribbon cutting on Thursday, thank you. We would not be where we are today without you.

While we are so proud of how far we’ve come, we know this is just the beginning.

We can’t wait to continue serving more families, making a difference in our community, and building something that will leave a lasting impact for years to come.

You bought the house. But have you planned for what happens to it next? 🏡

Here’s something many California homeowners don’t realize: when determining whether an estate may be subject to probate, the mortgage or other debt on your home doesn’t reduce the home’s value for that calculation.

So if your home is worth $900,000 but you still owe $500,000 on the mortgage, you shouldn’t assume only your $400,000 of equity is what matters.

That’s one reason estate planning can become especially important for California homeowners even if you don’t think of yourself as having a “large estate.”

A properly created and funded trust can help keep assets held in the trust out of probate and make the transition much easier for the people you love.

Buying the home was a big step. Make sure protecting it is one, too.
