Careful scene processing is necessary to identify whether a fire is a result of a product recall or another cause. The photos below depict a fire resulting from discarded ci******es in a plastic container. The container's proximity to a heat pump unit and the resulting fire patterns could easily be confused as the unit causing the fire. This confusion could result in wasted time and efforts in pursuing a subrogation claim against the units' manufacturer.
