As if the nutritional value of meals rich in nutrients and low in saturated fats and sodium weren't enough, a new study shows that blood pressure was lowered by 11% among students participating in the Universal School Meals program. School meals are required to come with fruits and veggies, and since that requirement was implemented, actual consumption of fruit is up 23%, and veggie consumption is up16%.
