Thousands of Immigrant Children Face New Legal Representation Gaps
The federal contract supporting a large national network of lawyers for unaccompanied immigrant children ended on July 31.
That does not mean every child lost the same attorney on the same day. It does mean families cannot assume that the same organization, funding, or lawyer is still responsible for the case.
These cases may involve immigration court, USCIS, and a separate state court case for SIJS at the same time. Families should get the complete file, confirm every deadline, and find out who currently owns each part of the case.
If representation was interrupted, contact SRR Law Group before a missed handoff becomes a missed hearing.
