Bright Lights for Children — Share an Act of Kindness This Holiday Season
Every year around this time, we choose one meaningful cause to focus our energy and compassion on. In the past, I’ve often been an advocate for children battling cancer or efforts to feed the hungry. These causes will always remain close to my heart. But this year, something shifted.
This year, we chose to focus on children with special needs.
Many families caring for children with autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, and other developmental challenges spend countless hours and financial resources ensuring their children have what they need to thrive. The routines, therapies, medical appointments, and daily responsibilities can be overwhelming. And because of that, the “extras” — the magic, the celebration, the joy of the holiday season — often fall to the side.
So this year, our mission became clear:
Create a moment of celebration just for them.
Bright Lights for Children is a one-of-a-kind holiday experience designed to give these remarkable children and their families an evening they will never forget. It offers:
• A festive limousine ride
• A private IMAX holiday movie experience
• Gifts, food, music, and entertainment
• An interactive magic show performed by award-winning magician Andy Amyx
• A space where children can simply be children — joyful, excited, and celebrated
For many of these families, this event provides a holiday experience they may not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy. It is made possible by the collective efforts of coordinators, therapists, researchers, parents, community leaders, and the kindness of people who believe in making the season brighter for others.
