"I turned right on a green in the middle of the desert with not much around, when the car in front of me and I were both pulled over by a police car. I could see the driver in front of me was a young girl, and with my ponytail, tank top and sunglasses, I likely looked much younger than I was. The officer approached my car, asked for license and registration, then said I made an illegal turn. I handed him what he'd asked for and respectfully said the light was green when we all turned. Then, his eyes travel to my chest! I fumed inside, but remained calm as he went to speak to the girl. I pulled out my phone and my LegalShield app ... but didn’t place the call yet. I could see the girl's face in her side-view mirror, but couldn't hear them. Cop came back to my window and AGAIN stared at my chest, so ... I asked, 'Sir, are you looking at my chest?'. He fumbled for words (said his eyes were bad) and put on sunglasses. At that point, I showed him my phone app with the red emergency button ready to tap. Calmly, I said, 'You pulled us over in the middle of nowhere for turning right on a green, which is a legal turn, stared at my chest when addressing me and can't provide a legitimate reason for our detainment. Let us go, or I'm calling my lawyers now and you can explain to them why we are pulled over.' He made an excuse but let us both go. I believe 99% of police officers are good people doing a good job, but I also believe every mom, wife and daughter and every person of color should have LegalShield for the 1% who might not be."

Sharing a member story:

Sooo.... My LegalShield membership literally saved my life tonight.

I fell victim to someone's major road rage. The guy tailgated me for a mile, cut me off and scuffed up my side-view mirror casing but started yelling at me like it was my fault, saying I "should be shot and to get out of the car and do something so I can shoot you", so I grabbed my phone and opened my app. (On car audio the whole time cause I was chillin listening to music until this happens) As soon as the operator answered and I gave my member number, the guy got quiet, and as I started explaining what happened he peeled off because he realized I was dead serious about having an attorney on retainer 👌

"I was 8 months pregnant in 2007 and 'not in the mood' when I got a ding on my credit report of a new collection account for $138. Confused, I called the collection agency to figure it out. The lady found the account and said I owed $138 from an unpaid cell phone bill from May 2003. I let the lady know I'd only had one cell phone account since 1999 and I was calling her from it. She said it wasn't her problem, but I could resolve it now if I paid 1/2 of what I didn't owe in the first place. I declined and called AT&T. They showed no such record, but reminded me that they were owned by Cingular that year... and I should call them. Cingular didn't exist anymore... AT&T bought them back between the time of my missing bill payment and this day. So, I called LegalShield to get advice. The attorney asked if I paid the bill - I said my cell would have been shut off in 2003 if I hadn't. He asked me to find proof and to send it to him ... he'd 'see what he could do'. I dug through old receipts and found a copy of that May 2003 bill, but the only proof was that I wrote 'paid $138.xx, check # ----' (like we do). I sent it to my attorney. A week later, I got a copy of the letter my attorney sent the collections agency, and saw that the letter was also CC'd to AT&T's legal department, Cingular's legal department (which he found) and the FCC. Two days later, that negative mark was gone from my credit report, and six days later my son was born. I didn't have time for that nonsense."
